Appendices have been added in the book for About the Author U K Chakrabarty is a Safety Professional with 25 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) aspects of petroleum industries, viz., Disaster Management, Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Training, Safety & Risk Planning activities, Job Safety Analysis, Development of Safety Management of both the upstream and downstream petroleum industries. He obtained his BTech (Chem. Engg.) and later M. E. degree in Industrial Safety Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Tirichirapalli, Tamil Nadu. He acquired his International Diploma in Environment Management from British Safety Council. Shri Chakrabarty also undertook foreign assignments and worked in KNPC, Kuwait (Mina-Al-Ahmedi Refinery) as Area Safety Engineer in Federal Communication Committee (FCC). He was also associated with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies and population survey for petroleum pipeline projects. He has published 60 odd technical papers in various national and international conferences in Singapore and Australia and few papers in Hydrocarbon Asia and Petromin magazines. He has earlier authored two books on safety titled A Reference Book of Industrial Safety and Industrial Disaster Management and Emergency Response. Recipient of various awards both for his professional assignments and published technical papers, Shri Chakrabarty was awarded 'Gujarat Safety Man of The Year - 2003'.
