About The Author: Arun Monappa has been a professor at IIM Ahmedabad since 1972. Prior to this he worked in industry, starting his career in 1964 in the personnel area. He received his M.A. from Madras University and M.Sc. from London School of Economics, where he studied as a J.N. Tata scholar. He was Teaching Fellow at the International Institute of Labour Studies at Geneva. He has published many books and articles in this field.
