Manual of Nutrition and Therapeutic Diet , in its second edition, is a nutrition and diet-therapy text written to the Indian Nursing Council (INC) syllabus. It takes the student from the science of normal nutrition through to planning diets for patients according to their disease condition. The book is organised into 45 chapters across 9 sections. The early sections cover nutrition as a subject, energy and basal metabolic rate, and the macronutrients - carbohydrates, fats and proteins - with their classification, functions, digestion, absorption, metabolism, and disorders of deficiency and excess.
