Modern Applied Linguistics is a post graduate text. S.K. Verma is presently the Director of the CIEFL, Hyderabad. He has taught linguistics and applied linguistics for thirty years at a number of universities in India, U.K., U.S.A., Australia, Belgium, Singapore, etc. and the co-author of Modern Linguistics (OUP) and four other books. M. Nagarajan teaches English at the National Collage, Tiruchirappalli. He has taught English for about 15 years and has done extensive research in areas like bilingual approaches to language teaching, narratology, etc.
