The first five essays in this book describe in detail but in simple language the science behind creativity, the scientific basis of the techniques which the artists employ to enhance the aesthetic values of their art works without having any knowledge about the structure or functions of the brain, and lastly the possible neural pathways involved in both creation and appreciation of visual art works. An artist is essentially a neurologist or better a neuroscientist. The rest of the essays principally discuss the changes in art forms and creativity which happen when talented artists develop some form of neurological diseases including strokes, dementias, and Parkinsonism.
