STEP BY STEP MANAGEMENT OF CLUBFOOT BY PONSETI TECHNIQUE

Through this handbook, we are trying to communicate the master's instructions in our own way for managing the clubfoot in different age groups. Perhaps Dr Ponseti's concentrations has been mainly on managing the neonate clubfoot or clubfoot in early infancy. But the place where we work, as well as in all developing countries, few neonates with clubfoot are brought in for management; rather neglected clubfoot is encountered more frequently. We have attempted to categorize the management age-wise and have suggested how to take advantage of the Ilizarov ring fixator as and when required. Of course, the Ponseti principle has been mostly adhered to. The book is providing a simplified method to correct the deformities in the clubfoot with other information so that it can be easily mastered and implemented. Special focus is given to atypical clubfoot and secondary clubfoot.
